Like many modern love stories, Kyle & Ina’s journey began with a simple swipe. Little did they know, this swipe would spark something truly unforgettable.

 

In July of 2023, Kyle was in Japan, wrapping up a 3-month sabbatical spent traveling, while Ina was in the Philippines, preparing for her own trip to Japan in November. Thanks to travel mode, they matched by pure chance—Ina didn't hesitate and took the first step messaging him. Kyle responded just in time, mere hours before their connection would disappear forever.

 

What followed was instant chemistry. It felt like something worth exploring, so Kyle came to Manila, and Ina cleared her evenings for an entire week. That week together was nothing short of magical. And even though Kyle had to return to the UK soon after, they both knew that what they had was special—it was worth trying out, even if it meant dating across 6,754 miles.

 

By their November trip to Japan, they knew they loved each other. But as introverts, neither said a word—not until they were drunk on lemon sours in a cozy takoyaki bar on their last night. Kyle confessed there was something he’d been wanting to say, and that he almost slipped up many times, especially when Ina was beating him at Mario Kart the night before. Finally, he said, “I love you, you know.” Ina’s first reaction was, “WHAT, WHY?!”—but once the surprise wore off, she said it back, of course! Cue the fireworks!

 

For the next year or so, they continued facing the challenges of long distance as an official couple—poor internet, late-night and very early calls, and time zone differences that seemed impossible to overcome. Yet, with every trip to see each other, it only reinforced their belief that they were truly meant to be together.

 

In December 2024, Ina traveled to the UK for the first time, and that’s when Kyle asked the big question. Surrounded by love—and with a curious fox as their witness—they got engaged, marking the start of the next chapter in their story.

 

Now, after all the miles and memories, they’re finally ready to close the distance and begin the rest of their lives together—no more swiping, no more flights alone, and no more goodbyes. Just infinite love, laughter, cups of tea, and a lifetime of adventures.
